Home School Kits

This project has been funded by grants from the four funding agencies above each to provide support for home learning during the COVID-19 crisis. It began in May 2020 and is due to be completed at the end of August 2020.
Physical Kits
The funding received from Believe Housing, East Durham Area Action Partnership, The National Lottery Community Fund and County Durham Community Foundation has helped pay for some excellent home school learning kits both general and subject specific activity kits. We have also worked in partnership for some of these subject kits with other Community Interest Companies including Sens8tional CIC and Citizen Songwriters CIC.
To help us get these kits out to families that need them most as well as taking direct referrals we have also worked with a number of other organisations and schools including Tow Law Food Bank and Community Drop In, East Durham Trust, Timothy Hackworth Primary School and Dene House Sunshine Day Nursery.
Online Learning
The funding from the County Durham Community Foundation and The National Lottery Fund has enabled us to provide many more of these home school kits but also offer a blended learning service whereby we have been able to expand ad run online workshops using the Zoom platform to support parents whose children have been unable to attend school during the pandemic. We have offered a wide scope of activities pulling right across our offer of Arts, Technology, Oracy, Maths and Science.. We have ran Cake Ninja, Science Ninja, Story Ninja, Mini Ninja's and Art Ninja workshops under our existing brands as well as musical activities with Citizen Songwriters.
Feedback from parents and carers
We have received lots of positive feedback from our parents and carers about the support they have accessed during this time and check out the gallery for the project with lots of happy children learning. We have included some of our comments below below:
